Community Guidelines

How to be a good neighbor in the TuneFreq community.

Section 01 / Respect

Be Kind: This community is made up of independent musicians, music fans, and people just like you. Respect each other. Disagreements are okay—harassment is not.

No Hate Speech: We don't tolerate hate speech, discrimination, or bullying based on race, gender, identity, religion, or anything else. First violation = warning. Second = permanent ban.

Messages Are Public(ish): When you message an artist after purchasing, remember they're reading it. Be respectful. Artists won't see your purchases or messages if you're abusive.

Respect Artists: Artists pour hours into their music. Even if it's not your style, it took effort. Support the community by being encouraging, not cruel.

Section 02 / Music

You Own Your Work: If it's on TuneFreq, you must own it or have permission to distribute it. Don't upload remixes, covers, or samples without credit or rights.

Credit Collaborators: If you're not the sole creator, credit everyone involved. Tag features, producers, and engineers in your release metadata.

Sample Clearance: If your music includes samples, you're responsible for clearing those samples. TuneFreq doesn't clear samples for you.

Respect Copyright: If you're a listener, don't share purchased downloads publicly or redistribute them. You bought the right to listen—not to share.

Section 03 / AI-generated music

TuneFreq does not allow AI-generated music to be published or sold here. In short: do not list audio as music you sell if it was created substantially by generative AI instead of human creative work you have the right to offer. See our AI Policy to read the full plain-language explanation and how it fits with our Terms.

Section 04 / Uploads

No Malware: Don't upload files that contain viruses, malware, or anything designed to harm devices or collect data.

No Illegal Activity: Don't use TuneFreq to promote, coordinate, or facilitate illegal activity.

Realistic Metadata: Don't mislead about artist names, genres, or release dates. Impersonation = instant ban.

Appropriate Cover Art: Album covers should be appropriate. Extremely graphic, sexual, or violent imagery may result in removal.

Section 05 / Commerce

No Artificial Inflation: Don't create fake accounts to artificially inflate sales, plays, or follower counts. We detect this and ban permanently.

Honest Pricing: Don't engage in price manipulation or coordinated pricing schemes.

Fan Relationships: Don't spam listeners with messages or force them to follow you for purchase access.

Dispute Resolution: If there's a problem (payment, refund, downloads/uploads), try to work it out directly with the other party first. Contact us only if it's unresolved.

Section 06 / Violations

Warning: First-time, minor violations get a warning. We'll explain what went wrong.

Suspension: Repeated violations result in a temporary suspension (7-30 days depending on severity).

Permanent Ban: Serious violations (hate speech, harassment, copyright infringement, fraud) result in permanent account termination. No refunds.

Appeals: Think you were banned unfairly? Email [email protected] with your case. We review appeals carefully.

Legal Action: Serious violations may result in legal action (fraud, harassment, copyright claims).

Section 07 / Questions

These guidelines exist to protect everyone. If you're unsure about something, ask us first. Email [email protected] and we'll help.
