Good metadata makes your music discoverable and ensures correct attribution and royalty handling.
What to include
- Artist name — Your display name or the release artist. Must match how you want to be found.
- Release and track titles — Clear, consistent naming.
- Genre — Helps discovery and community radio. Pick the best fit.
- ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) — Unique per track. If you have ISRCs from your distributor or previous releases, enter them. They help with rights and reporting.
- Featured artists — Add collaborators so they're credited and, if you use revenue sharing, paid correctly.
Where to set it
- In the file — Many DAWs and tag editors let you write artist, title, and genre into the file. We may read these on upload and pre-fill the form.
- In the upload/release form — You can override or complete everything in the Console. Always review before publishing.
Digital goods
For preset packs, sample packs, ebooks, and other non-music products, use Products in the Console. Those have their own titles, descriptions, and optional variants—see the product creation flow.
