When you create a release from your uploaded tracks, you choose the release type: Single, EP, or Album. This affects how it's presented and organized.
Single
- One track (or a main track plus optional B-side or alternate). Ideal for one-off drops and lead singles.
- Appears in your discography and in discovery as a single.
EP
- A small collection (typically a handful of tracks). Good for short projects or previews before a full album.
- Same catalog and discovery treatment as other releases; the "EP" label helps fans and algorithms understand the format.
Album
- Full-length release: many tracks, usually with a coherent track order. This is the classic album experience.
- You can set track order, add featured artists, and assign ISRCs per track. See Metadata and ID Tags.
Choosing the right type
Use the type that matches your project. You can always release more later—e.g. singles leading up to an album. Each release can have its own artwork, description, and release date. See Scheduling Release Dates for setting a future go-live date.
